Recovering Any Windows Nt, 2000, Xp, and Vista System Password
This is the ultimate guide to cracking and/or recovering *ANY* password, for any user account, in any version of Windows! This article is STEP-BY-STEP and we even provide screen shots!
Cracking and recovering a Windows password is MUCH easier than people think. Let me first tell you what tools you will need to be able to do this. First, you need Knoppix Linux. You can get it at . http://www.knoppix.net/get.php
After you download it, burn the operating system image to a CD and you're ready to go. You will also need SamInside. Make sure you get the FULL version, not the Demo! You can EASILY find it using your favorite p2p application. That's all you need, just Knoppix & SamInside.
1. Load Knoppix into the Victims Machine. (This will not mess up any configurations on the Victims PC. They won't even know you were there). 2. On the Desktop, click on the folder for your hard drive (usually HDA1). 3. Navigate to this folder: /WINNT/System32/Config. If this machine was UPGRADED from a lower level OS, such as Windows 95, 98, etc, then navigate to: /WINDOWS/System32/Config
4. Once in this folder, copy a file called "SAM". This file has no extension. Also, copy a file called "SYSTEM". Again, it has no extension. Copy these files to your floppy drive (Use simple Copy & Paste Functions). You can find the folder for your Floppy Drive on the desktop. If these files are too big for the floppy drive (over 1.44mb) this means that the computer that you are hacking has many local user accounts. If you can't fit it on the floppy, you can e-mail the files to yourself, or you can use a USB Flash Drive (a 16+ MB will do JUST fine).
5. Okay, so now you have the 2 files you need. The SAM file and the SYSTEM file. The reason you need the SYSTEM file, is just incase the computer you are hacking has SYSKEY (90% of the time, it WILL). To crack the SYSKEY protection, we'll need to use SAMInside. Load up SAMInside and choose the option to import the SAM File. It's going to use the SAM and SYSTEM files to extract a Hash file from it. Start a Brute Force attack on the Hash file you extracted. This can take a LONG time. Sometimes a day, if the password is very complex! Start the Brute Force attack and wait! That's it!
